The White Ribbon Banner, "the official organ of the Woman's Christian Temperance Union," was published
in Highland Park from 1890 to 1953. The White Ribbon Banner was distributed nationally, if not internationally.
Mrs. Stanley, publisher, and Mr. Stanley, who worked at Case mills, were active and well-known in the temperance
movement.
The Connecticut State Library has copies of the newspaper, and sent this
scan of the masthead of the first edition. Researchers can view more at the library, on Capitol Avenue, Hartford.
